Kimberly Guilfoyle : Personal Life
Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle was born on 9th March, 1969 in San Francisco to an Irish father and a Puerto Rican mother. Growing up in the Mission District, Guilfoyle went to school to Mercy High School. Her mother, Mercedes, who died of leukemia when Guilfoyle was just eleven, had taught her special education.
Her father, Tony, served in the US Army for four years, later taking up job in construction trades. He worked his way up eventually becoming a close advisor to Mayor Newsom.
Guilfoyle graduated magna cum laude and earned herself a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of California, Davis and the University Of San Francisco School Of Law respectively. She got the opportunity to intern at the San Francisco district attorney’s office during her time in law school, all the while modeling for Macy’s, and a bridal magazine. She published research papers on international children’s rights and European Economic Community law.
In 2001, she tied the knot with Gavin Newsom, who became the elected mayor of San Francisco in 2003. The marriage lasted until February 28, 2006, after Guilfoyle had filed a divorce for Newsom citing the strain of a bi-coastal marriage.
She was married again with Eric Villency on 27th May, 2006 and shortly after, on October 4th, 2006, her first child, Ronan Anthony, was born. Sadly even this couple didn’t last as they separated and divorced.
Kimberly Guilfoyle : Professional Life
Guilfoyle, after graduating from law school, started out as a prosecutor in San Francisco until Terence Hallinan, the elected District Attorney of 1996 fired fourteen of the city’s prosecutors, including her. She served as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles and received several awards for it.
She was re-hired by Hallinan as the Assistant District Attorney from 2000 to 2004.
After her law career, Guilfoyle moved on to television in January 2004, as she moved to New York hosting the program Both Sides on Court TV, working as a legal analyst. She was invited by Fox News to work for them in February 2006 on the weekend show The Lineup.
After the show was canceled, she co-hosted The Five in 2011, later co-hosting Outnumbered as well. She published her semi-autobiographical book “Making the Case: How to be Your Own Best Advocate” in 2015 sharing her experiences and motivating people to be their own advocates.
Guilfoyle was reportedly considered to serve as the press secretary for President Donald Trump in December 2016 but her position was taken by Sean Spicer. Later in an interview, she confessed that she was in contact with the White House regarding replacing Sean Spicer with her. But due to her contract with Fox, she had to turn down White House.
