Kate del Castillo is a Mexican movies/TV show actress who had her debut in 1978 at 6 years of age in the movie The Last Escape. Her full name is Kate del Castillo Negrete Trillo and she is also known as Kastillo de Crista. Below is a brief bio of this actress.
Born to Kate Trillo and the legendary Mexican actor Eric del Castillo on October 23 1972 in Mexico City, Mexico, Kate has a sister and a half-brother from her father's side. She was married to footballer Luis Garcia in 2001 until the relationship broke in 2004. She later married Aaron Diaz in 2009, but the couple separated in 2011. She currently lives in Los Angeles and released her own line of tequila in 2015.
Named one of the Stars of the Year in 2007, Kate was also one of the 25 Most Influential Women and 50 Most Beautiful Women voted by People en Espanol magazine in 2011. She has been nominated four times for the Premios TvyNovelas Award in Best Female Revelation category for Muchachitas (1992), winning the Best Young Actress category for Imperio de cristal (1995), nominated Best young actress for Alugna vez tendremos alas (1998) and the same nomination again for La mentira (1999). In 2005, she was awarded the Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva Award for Best Actress for the movie American Visa, for which she also was nominated the Ariel Award for Best Actress. She was awarded the Outstanding Performance in a Motion Picture by the National Hispanic Media for the 2007 movie Trade.

In 2011, Kate was nominated for Premios People en Espanol award twice in the same category : Best Couple (with Ivan Sanchez) and Best Couple (with Rafael Amaya) for the work La Regina del Sur, winning the first one. She has to her credit over eight nominations, winning three of them. She has also acted in over 23 prominent TV show and 29 films in total, and was the voice of La Muerte in the animated hit The Book of Life.
She created a controversy in a statement issued on Twextra stating that she believed more than her government in Joaquin Guzman Loera aka El Chapo, drug-overlord of the gang Sinaloa Cartel; also brokering an interview between Sean Penn and Guzman in 2015 before the latter's re-capture by the Mexican Navy.
Other than acting, Kate has been actively involved in various humanitarian and animal protection efforts. She was appointed Ambassador for the Mexican Commission on Human Rights in 2009, and in 2010 she supported the Blue Heart Campaign that works to fight human trafficking issues. In 2012, she also partook in a PETA campaign for the protection of pet dogs and cats by keeping them indoors.
