John Hannah is an American actor. He came into this world on 4th April of the year 1951 which has now made him reach at the age of 65. Although he is known by the name John Hannah, as a child, he was named as John Allen Hannah. He is the native of Canton, Georgia.

Hannah is the son of the NFL player Herbert Hannah who was an offensive lineman for the University of Alabama and he played a year at tackle for New York Giants in 1951. He was raised up in Albertville, Alabama and he was also excelled at football and wrestling at the Baylor School located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He also won an individual national championship in the wrestling at National Prep Championship in 1967. He then played his senior season of high school football at the Albertville High School from where he got graduated in 1969.

Talking about his college career, Hannah played tackle and guard in football for the University of Alabama under the coach Paul Bryant from 1970 till 1972 and he also earned All-American honors for two times. During his tenure there, he was the part of SEC Championship winning team. He was also named to University of Alabama All-Century Team and also to Alabama 1970s All-Decade Team. He was also inducted into College Football Hall of Fame in 1999. While he was in Alabama, he also participated in the shot put, wrestling and discus throw.

In 1973, he joined Patriots as 4th overall pick in 1973 NFL Draft. He played entire professional career in New England. He started first thirteen games of his rookie season of 1973 till a freak leg injury forced him to miss the final game of that year. Prior to that, Hannah was named as All-Pro 10 times and All-AFC 11 times. He was also selected for playing in 9 Pro Bowls. Additionally, he is also one of the few players who have been named to NFL All-Decade Team for two times. In 1991, he became first Patriots player to be inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was also selected to NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time team being number 1 guard in the team.

Hannah had played for New England Patriots from 1973 till 1985 in National Football League. In addition to that, he was also elected to pro-Football Hall of Fame in 1991 as well as Sports Illustrated dubbed him on its 3rd August 1981 cover of The Best Offensive Lineman of All Time.

Hannah became an assistant coach at the Governor Dummer Academy located in Massachusetts leaving to accept the head coaching job at Somerville, Massachusetts High School in 2004. While concurrently serving as youth development coordinator for the city, Hannah led Somerville Team through one winless season. He then left to become special assistant coach at his alma mater Baylor School in 2005. After that, he resigned from coaching position at the conclusion of Baylor’s 2005 football season.
