An English actress, Janet McTeer is a native of Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, United Kingdom. She belongs to English nationality and of White ethnicity. She is the daughter of Jean and Alan McTeer. McTeer spent her childhood in York.
She has been active in the acting field since 1985 and from that time onward, she has gained a large number of fan following and has been very successful. She starred in “God of Carnage” in 2008 in West End along with Ken Stott, Tamsin Greig and Ralph Fiennes at Gielgud Theatre. She then reprised her role on the Broadway from March to June 2010 opposite to Jeff Daniels from. In 2013, she was cast in “The White Queen” as Jacquetta of Luxembourg who is the mother of a title character.
