She is the native of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States of America. She came into this world on the 31st October of the year 1950.
Although she is professionally known as Jane Pauley, as a child, she was named as Margaret Jane Pauley. She stands at an average height of 5 feet and 4 inches (1.63 m) and her star sign is Scorpio. She went to get her primary education from the Warren Central High School located in Indianapolis.
During her time there, she competed in debates and public speaking tournaments through Indiana High School Forensic Association. Later, she graduated from high school in 1968. Subsequently, she earned a scholarship to the Indiana University where she became involved in the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Jane is married to Garry Treudeau, a cartoonist and the author of Doonesbury. The pair exchanged their vows on the 14th of June 1980 and have been together ever since.
Jane also has three children together with her husband. It was in 2004 when she announced about her diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
Jane Pauley: Professional Life, Career
After completing her college, she started to work at a CBS affiliate WISH-TV from 1972 until 1975. After that, she joined WMAQ-TV located in Chicago marking the beginning of her NBC career.
The next year, Jane became the co-host of Today alongside Tom Brokaw from 1976 to 1981, and Bryant Gumbel from 1982 till 1989.
In addition to that, she also anchored Sunday edition of the NBC Nightly News. After she left the Today show, she began hosting Real Life with Jane Pauley and served as the deputy anchor for NBC Nightly News.
From 27th April 2014, Jane started to contribute as a correspondent to the CBS Sunday Morning. The same year, in the 10th August, she became the guest host of CBS Sunday Morning and the next day, she started a week long stint as guest co-host on CBS This Morning.
Prior to that, she joined the Board of Directors of The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis based non-profit organization that supports the education innovation as well as reform. She is also affiliated with McGovern Institute for Brain Research where she serves on the leadership board of that institute.
In 2004, she published her autobiography titled as Skywriting: A life out of the blue and also launched her daytime talk show.
