Harvey Weinstein who is an American film producer as well as the film studio executive was born on 19th March of the year 1952. He is mostly known for co-founding the Miramax Films. He is the native of Flushing, New York, United States. He was raised up in a Jewish family. He is the son of Max Weinstein and wife Miriam. His father was a diamond cutter. He also has one younger brother named Bob Weinstein. They both grew up in housing co-op named Electchester in the New York City. Harvey attended the John Bowne High School and got graduated from there. After that, he went to study at the University of Buffalo, The State University of New York City.
Through most of 1970, Harvey along with his brother Bob and Corky Burger used to produce the rock concerts independently in the Buffalo as Harvey & Corky Productions. Using the profits from the concerts, the two brothers created small independent film distribution Company in late 1970s which is called as Miramax. It was named after their parents “Miriam and Max”. The first releases of the company were primarily music oriented concerts films like Paul McCartney’s Rockshow. In early 1980s, Miramax acquired rights of the two British films of the benefit shows that was filmed for human rights organization “Amnesty International”. After working closely with the producer of originals films Martin Lewis, the brothers then edited two of the films into one movie tailored for American market. The resulting film was then released in May of 1982 as “The Secret Policeman’s Other Ball”. It became the first hit of the Miramax.
Later, it was announced on 29th March of 2005 that, Harvey along with his brother would leave the Miramax on 30th September for forming their own production company named as “The Weinstein Company” along with Quentin Tarantino, and Robert Rodriguez and Colin Vaines. The studio immediately garnered an Academy Award Nomination for the Transamerica and Mrs. Henderson Presents as well as box office success through the Hoodwinked! and the Scary Movie 4. He is also the producer known for films like The Burning, Deep End, Plating the Keeps, Light Years a.k.a. Gandahar, Shakespeare in love, Malena, Gangs of New York, Nine, My Week with Marilyn and One Chance. He has also directed movies such as Playing for Keeps and The Gnomes’ Great Adventure. In addition to that, Harvey is also the executive of numbers of films.

Eve was his assistant. He has three children together with Eve named as Lily born in 1995, Emma born in 1998 and Ruth born in 2002. Due to some reason, they got divorced in 2004. After that, he got married to his wife Georgina Chapman with whom he is living a happy life till now. Chapman is a fashion designer as well as actress. The couple exchanged their vows with each other in 2007. Harvey has two children along with his wife Georgina, a daughter named India Pearl born in 2010 and a son named Dashiell born in 2013.
Apart from that, Harvey is now at the age of 62 and his net worth is estimated to be around $200 million. He is also active in the issues such as poverty, juvenile diabetes, AIDS and the multiple sclerosis research. He serves in Board of Robin Hooh which is a non-profit organization in fighting the poverty that is based in the New York City. He has also co-chaired one of the annual benefits. There are stories that Harvey is a casting couch and there also are some actresses who have admitted to have slept with him for the role. He is the supporter of American Democratic Party. In addition to that, he was also based on a character that was portrayed by Maury Chaykin on HBO television series Entourage. The character was named as Harvey Weingard which was character as intimidating and an aggressive producer. He has reportedly responded positively for the role.
