Ecstatic and already berserk fans will be eagerly waiting to see one of the most awaited movies of the year releasing this December 18th. And guess who is returning to the screen?

Whether encased and left to freeze in Carbonite in Star Wars : The Empire Strikes Back (Episode 5), or shooting Greedo in a manner thought cold-blooded by many in Star Wars : A New Hope (Episode 4), Han Solo – a class-act-swag-apart as portrayed on screen by Harrison Ford - is one of the most recognizable characters from the Star Wars franchise. A smuggler by profession who operated outside of the Galactic Empire's jurisdiction, Solo is popularly known as the owner of the Millenium Falcon, that he won gambling against his own freighter.

Han Solo found his most trustworthy companion and co-pilot in Chewbacca or "Chewie", who would follow him into risky smuggling missions across the galaxy after he rescued the latter from imprisonment. In time, Solo and Chewie would come across the Rebel Alliance aiding other notable characters : Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. Upon being pulled captured into antagonist Darth Vader's battle station Death Star, Solo would also rescue and later fall in love with Princess Leia Organa as the story progresses on. The rebel alliance would finally emerge victorious, and Solo leading the air strike team that destroys Death Star II in Star Wars : Return of the Jedi (Episode 6).

Some of the most memorable quotes by Han Solo in the Star Wars, with their context are :

1) “Great, kid. Don't get cocky.” - a quote from Star Wars : A New Hope (Episode 4), when Luke Skywalker is ecstatic after he shoots down an enemy TIE fighter.

2) “ I know.” - Solo's reply to Princess Leia, who earlier expresses her love for Solo by saying “I love you.” before being encased in Carbonite.

3) ”Chewie, we're home.” - a quote from the upcoming Star Wars : the Force Awakens (Episode 7) trailer, which will be releasing worldwide on December 2015.

As fans probably know by now, everything in Star Wars is now divided into what is canon and what is not. Canon-ically speaking, we have no information about Han Solo's kids. Non-canonically however, Solo would eventually marry Princess Leia and have 3 children : Jaina, Jacen and Anakin, all who would take up the Solo surname. His son Jacen would eventually turn into the dark side of the force and become Darth Caedus, only killed by his own sister Jaina.

Star Wars : The Empire Strikes Back (Episode 5) features a melodic theme named “Han Solo and the Princess” dedicated to the character Han Solo and his significant other, Leia. This theme has also been used in the trailer for the upcoming movie Star Wars : the Force Awakens (Episode 7) that fans across the globe are early waiting to see. Released in 2012, a Star Wars video game titled Kinect Star Wars includes a segment “Galactic Dance-Off”, where the player can choose to dance to a song titled “I'm Han Solo” (a remix of the pop song Ridin' Solo).
