An American singer, songwriter as well as an actress Gladys Knight is a seven times Grammy Award winner. She is mostly known for her hits that she recorded during the 1960s and 1970s for both Motown and Buddah Records Labels with her group called Gladys Knight & The Pips that also included her brother named Merald Knight and her cousins William Guest and Edward Patten.
She is the native of Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America. She was born on 28th May of the year 1944 which has made her 71 years old. She has been active in the acting field since 1953 and from that time onward, she has been very successful and popular. She has also gained a large number of fans following.
Although she is known by the name Gladys Knight, as a child, she was named as Gladys Maria Knight. She is the daughter of Merald Woodlow Knight, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth. After that, she married her third husband, Les Brown who is a motivational speaker in 1995 but they soon got separated and divorced just after a couple of years. That same year, she was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints following her son and daughter.
At present, she is married to her fourth husband, William McDowell. The couple exchanged their vows with each other on April 12, 2001, and since then, they are together and living their blissful life. In addition to that, they also have 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
