Fred Hoiberg is famous across the globe as a former pro basketball player and the current coach for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association in United States of America. He also was the head coach for the team of Iowa State University in the city of Ames at Iowa. He was brought up in Ames, Iowa and he used to play basketball for the Iowa state. He is taken as one of the multi talented athletes who was also the quarterback for the football team and captain of the basketball team at the Ames high School located at Iowa. He led his basketball team upto the state championship in the year 1991 and also was honored with the State Of Iowa’s “Mr. Basketball” in that same year. He then chose to play basketball for his hometown. He played a total of three seasons for the coach Johnny Orr and online season for the oach Tim Floyd; he was the First-Team All-Big Eight selection in the year 1995.

He had to undergo a surgery in the year 2005, in the month of June to correct an enlarged aortic root and the operation was successful; after sometimes, he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves’ coaching staff. He announced his retirement from the basketball in the year 2006, 17th April to take a job in the Timberwolves’ front office.
