Fred Hoiberg is famous across the globe as a former pro basketball player and the current coach for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association in United States of America. He also was the head coach for the team of Iowa State University in the city of Ames at Iowa. He was brought up in Ames, Iowa and he used to play basketball for the Iowa state. He then played basketball for over ten years and then only served as the vice president of the basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves as his starting of his coaching career.He is currently 43 years of age and his bio include following details along with some of his stats.

He is taken as one of the multi talented athletes who was also the quarterback for the football team and captain of the basketball team at the Ames high School located at Iowa. He led his basketball team upto the state championship in the year 1991 and also was honored with the State Of Iowa’s “Mr. Basketball” in that same year. He then chose to play basketball for his hometown. He played a total of three seasons for the coach Johnny Orr and online season for the oach Tim Floyd; he was the First-Team All-Big Eight selection in the year 1995.

He is six feet and four inches in height and weighs about 95 kgs. He played as the shooting guard and was selected as the 52nd by the Indiana Pacers in the NBA draft in 1995. In the year 1999, after about four years along with the pacers, he then signed as a free agent for the Chicago Bulls; he used to be coached by Floyd during that times and he remained there for four years. In the year 2005, he became the first player to lead NBA history to lead the league in three point shoot and not to be invited in the three point shooting competition in that season’s All-star event.

In the year 2013, he signed a contract with the Iowa State for 10 years which amounted to $20 million. His contract also had a $2 million buyout clause if he left for another college coaching position but the buyout wsa only $500,000 if he ever left to become head coach or General Manager of NBA. He became the top coach in Iowa State to be able to pull off 100 wins only in 148 games in the year 2014, 31st December.

He was hired by Chicago Bulls as their head coach under a 5 year contract which amounted to $25 million.

He had to undergo a surgery in the year 2005, in the month of June to correct an enlarged aortic root and the operation was successful; after sometimes, he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves’ coaching staff. He announced his retirement from the basketball in the year 2006, 17th April to take a job in the Timberwolves’ front office.

His father was a sociology professor in the Iowa State University and his mother was an elementary school teacher. He is married to his wife whose name is Carol and who is also from Ames and the couple has four children, Paige, Jack, and twins Sam and Charlie; a happy family indeed.
