Emily Maitlis is a British journalist, a newsreader for BBC and documentary maker. She is the former newsreader for the One O'clock News who became the main presenter of Newsnight in 2006. She happens to be a Cambridge University graduate who later switched to Queen's college. She has made her move working for NBC, Sky News and Channel 4.

Emily Maitlis : Professional life

After her graduation from King Edward VII School , she was a trainee hairdresser. After her graduation from Queen's college she was involved as a documentary maker in Cambodia and China.

She then entered journalism working for NBC network based in Hong Kong. She also worked for Sky News based on UK.

After working as a business correspondent for Sky News, she switched to BBC London News in 2001.

Emily along with Evan Davis and Kristy Wark is one of the main presenters for the BBC Two program Newsnight. She also serves as the relief presenter on BBC News 

 She has also been seen on BBC News 24, the BBC Weekend News, and the BBC News at Ten O'Clock.
