Elena Delle Donne

Elena Donne is the native of Wilmington, Delaware. She is the daughter of Ernie who is a real estate developer and Joanie. She attended Ursuline Academy located in Wilmington where she gained a national recognition as a high school basketball star.

She led the school to the three Delaware State Championship Titles and she has also ranked as number 1 overall the high school recruit by Scout.com and McDonald’s All-American. Elena was first and the only student at the Ursuline who scored 2000+ points during the career of her high school. She also set girls’ high school National Record for the consecutive free throws made in the year 2005-06.

Her brother had also played college football as a tight end, first at the Duke and then at Middle Tennessee after graduating in the year 2009 whereas her sister is blind as well as deaf and she also has an autism and cerebral palsy. In the year 2013, she was rewarded with the Rookie of the Year Award.

Donne has also been named as a WBCA All-American. She has also participated in 2007 WBCA High School All-America Game in which she scored 17 points as well as earned MVP honors for Red Team.

Besides that, she has also competed in the Volleyball. She won volleyball DIAA State Championship with the Ursuline in the year 2007. She also has an elder brother and sister named Gene and Elizabeth.

Elena was named as Special Olympics Global Ambassador in February of the year 2014. She has also played in 3rd annual NBA cares special Olympics unified basketball game during the All-Star weekend along with Special Olympics athletes, NBA Legends as well as current WNBA and The NBA Players.
