Donna Lease Brazile is an American author, a political analyst who was born in the year 1959, 15th December which makes her age 57 years at present. She also is a vice chairwoman of the democratic National Committee. She was the first African-American to direct a high-profile presidential campaign where she was a campaign manager in the year 2000. She has served as interim Chair for the DNC in the spring, in the year 2011. Her bio includes the following details. 

She was born in the city of Kenner which is situated in the state of Louisiana. Her mother’s name is Jean Marie and her father’s name is Joseph Brazile. She is the third child among the nine children in the family. She started growing interest in politics when she was nine years old and at that time a local candidate promised to build a playground in the neighborhood. She took part in the TRIO upward Bound program when she was in high school. She completed her bachelor degree education in industrial psychology from Louisiana University and now is a fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. After completing her graduation from the University, she worked in numerous advocacy groups in the Washington D.C. and was successful in making the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. a federal holiday.

She also volunteered for the Jimmy Carter-Walter Mondale presidential campaigns in the year 1976 and 1980 when she was only a teenager. She also has worked for numerous presidential campaigns for the democratic candidates which include Jesse Jackson in the year 1984, Walter Mondale in the year 1984, Richard Gephardt in the year 1988.

She served as a deputy field director of Michael Dukakis in the election campaign after Gephardt lost the election in the year 1988. She hit the news headlines after the told a group of reporters that George Bush needed to Fess up about the rumors of extramarital affairs.

The campaign disavowed her remarks and fired her from the campaign. In the year 1990, she served as the chief of the  Staff and press secretary for the Congressional delegate in the Eleanor Holmes Norton where she aided in guiding the district budget as well as local legislation in the Capitol Hill. She also served as the advisor for the Bill Clinton’s presidency campaign in the year 1992 and later for re-election in the year 1996. She was appointed as the deputy campaign manager and later was promoted to campaign manager in the presidential campaign in the year 2000.

She was appointed as the Member of the BOD of Louisiana Recovery authority from the year 2005 till 2009 after the disaster of Hurricane Katrina. She is a member of Screen Actors Guild-American federation of television artists and she also has guest starred in some episodes of CBS drama named The Good Wife and in an episode of the series named House of Cards.
