Don Orsillo who is the play-by-play announcer for the Boston Red Sox games on New England Sports Network was born on 16th December of the year 1968. He is the native of Melrose, Massachusetts. He is also known by the other names such as Donny Man, Toad as well as Announcer Boy. Although he is known by the name Don Orsillo, as a child, he was named as Donatangelo Orsillo. While he was younger, he often dreamt of being the broadcaster for Red Sox. He then moved as well as grew up in the Madison, New Hampshire. There, he went to study at the John H. Fuller Elementary School. When he was 12 years old, he got enrolled at the Kennett Junior High School which is nearby Conway, New Hampshire.

His family then moved to West just before his high school. He also attended the Miraleste High School that is located in Rancho Palos Verdes, California and he got graduated from there in the year 1987. Previous to doing the Major League Baseball Games, he used to work in minor leagues announcing the Pawtucket Red Sox games on radio from the year 1996 till 2000. Before that, he had done the games for some of New York Mets minor league affiliates. From 1991 till the 1992 season, he started with Pittsfield Mets of New York-Penn League and then moved to the organization.

Since beginning of 2001 season, Don has been the play-by-play man of NESN. He also called the final game of Cal Ripken Jr. and the no hitters thrown by Derek Lowe in the year 2002 and the young Sox Pitchers Clay Buchholz and Jon Lester in 2007 and 2008 respectively. He was originally called as the Team’s Group that aired in NESN with long time Red Sox announcer Sean McDonough taking the place of Don along with Jerry Remy for the games which got aired on the local stations WFXT and WSBK-TV. For season 2005, Don did the games on both NESN and WSBK working with Remy. In addition to that, he works with Color Commentator as well as former Red Sox second baseman Jerry Remy. He had also worked along with the color commentators such as Nick Cafardo, Dennis Eckersley, Frank Viola, Sean Casey and Dave Roberts.
