Donald Hugh Henley, popularly known as Don Henley is an American singer/songwriter and producer, best known as the legendary rock band Eagle's founding member and drummer/co-vocalist. 69 years of age, Henley has been active since 1970 in the field of music, and was estimated in 2012 to be the 4th richest drummer in the world with a wealth $200 million fortune. Henley was born on 22nd July 1947 in Gilmer, Texas. He moved to Los Angeles in 1970 to record an album with his early band, Shiloh, during which time he lived in the house of Kenny Rogers who produced Shiloh's self-titled album. Some time later, Henley met Glenn Frey and they both joined Linda Ronstadt's band, and touring for the band became the catalyst for these two to form their own band Eagles in September 1971, along with Ronstadt's other two backing musicians, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. He was in the Eagles from 1971 to 1980 until their break up, and reunited in 1994 and is still with the band till date.

The Eagles won several Grammy Awards during the 70's becoming one of the most successful rock bands of all time in American history, also becoming America's top 5 best selling bands as well as the highest selling American band in US history. When the band broke up in 1980, Henley pursued a successful solo career, being nominated a Grammy for his single Dirty Laundry in 1983, and winning several MTV Video Music Awards including Best Video of the Year for the music video of his single The Boys of Summer (1984), the same song also won the Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance that year. Henley won another Grammy in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 1990 for his album, The End of Innocence. He has released 2 albums after that.

After briefly dating Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks in the 70's and Bond actress Lois Chiles after that, Henley was engaged to actress Maren Jensen from 1980 to 1986. Henley married Sharon Summerall in 1995, and it has been revealed that his wife is suffering from multiple sclerosis. The couple have three children.
