Deborah attended the Barnard College from where she got graduated in the year 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. While there, she also received the Young Alumni Award.
Deborah joined the CNN in May of the year 2000 as a New York Correspondent. Previous to joining the CNN, she used to work for the NY1 News, Time Warner’s 24 hours New York City News Channel as a reporter as well as an anchor.
During her tenure at the NY1, she earned three Emmy nominations for her coverage of the AIDS issues. In addition to that, she has also worked as the special correspondent for the Life Magazine where covered 1992 Los Angeles riots as well as 50th Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
