An American professional basketball coach Dave Joerger had most recently served as the head coach of Memphis Grizzlies of National Basketball Association. In addition to that, he was also the head coach of Dakota Wizards from 2000 till 2004 and 2006 till 2007 in International Basketball Association, the Continental Basketball Association and NBA Development League. He had also won the championships in the years 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2007. Additionally, he was also the coach of Sioux Falls Skyforce from 2004 until 2006. During that time, he won the championship in 2005.

Dave Joerger is the native of Staples, Minnesota. He came into this world on 21st February of the year 1974 which has now made him reach the age of 42. During his career, he had played at Concordia College as well as Moorhead State.

After that, he joined Dakota Wizards of International Basketball Association as the general manager of that team. He then became the assistant coach of the team in 1997 and eventually, he took over as head coach for 2000-2001 IBA season.  He then had an immediate success as head coach leading his team to 30-10 regular season record.

Dave remained with Wizards as the IBA, IBL and CBA teams merged for creating new Continental Basketball Association after the league declared bankruptcy under the ownership of Isiah Thomas. As former IBA team, the Wizards were then declared lower-tier in the 2001-02 season and they were also given shorter schedule with a couple of other former IBA teams and an expansion team for making up National Conference.

In April of 2006, The Skyforce, the Wizards, and Idaho Stampede made the jump from CBA to NBA Development League. Later in May, Dave Joerger left Skyforce and returned to Wizards as a head coach once again.

With the five minor league championships under the belt, National Basketball Association finally tooled the notice, and Dave was hired by Memphis Grizzlies as the assistant coach for the 2007-08 season under the head coach Marc Iavaroni. The Grizzlies organization made an announcement on 10th June 2013 that Lionel Hollins would not return as the head coach of the team, despite reaching conference finals for the first time in franchise history.

Joerger was then hired as Grizzlies head coach on 27th June 2013 for 2013-14 season. In the first year, he was named as the Western Conference Coach of The Month for January and April. Later on 28th May 2014, it was again announced that he was signed to three years contract extension. Currently, he has been fired by Memphis Grizzlies on 7th May of 2016.
