Cush Jumbo is the second child and has one elder sibling and five younger siblings. She spent all of her childhood in Boroughs of Lewisham and Southwark. When she was three years old, she started the dance classes and learned Tap, Modern, and Ballet. She is also a well-trained performer in Street Dance, Contemporary and the Ballroom and Latin.
Cush later got trained at Francis Cooper School of Dance, at the age of 11 to 15, while also attending the Cator Park School for the Girls. Later, she left the school at the age of 14 in order to pursue her acting career more seriously at BRIT School of Performing Arts located in Croydon. Later, she graduated with B.A. (Acting) at the Central School of Speech and Drama before starting her professional career.

Cush Jumbo's career
Cush plan was going through teacher training in the London, however, she landed in Hollywood and being a professional actress. Jumbo’s theater credits include the Brixton Stories at the Lyric, Hammersmith, the Liquid Gold at Almeida and Love’s Labour’s Lost at the Shakespeare’s Globe.
She has also made her appearance in the productions of the Cherry Orchard, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Crucible, Pygmalion, Richard III at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre. For all the performance she did there she was nominated for MEN and Ian Charleson Award. Later in 2012, she was able to win the Ian Charleson Award for giving the best performance at the National Theatre. She also won the UK Theatre Award in October 2013.
In the same year, 2013, she again won the award of Emerging Talent Award for her performance in the play Josephine and I. Then she made her debut in 2014 in the Royal Court Theatre's production 'The River' with Laura Donnelly and Hugh Jackman.
Prior to that, Cush also co-wrote a musical Rebels and Retail which was a shortlisted entrant in Perfect Pitch West End Showcase 2008. In addition to that, she is also the co-author of 101 Dance Ideas for 5-11 years old which was published by the A&C Black Publishers Ltd. On the television, Jumbo has appeared in Harley Street, My Family, Torchwood, Lip Service, Casualty, Getting On, Vera, The Good Wife, City of Tiny Lights, and The Inbetweeners Movie.
