Claudia Winkleman who is a television presenter, radio personality, journalist as well as film critic was born on 15th January 1972. She is mostly known for her current work with the BBC. Claudia is the native of London, England. As a child, she was named as Claudia Anne Winkleman to a Jewish family. She is the daughter of Eve Pollard who is the former editor of Sunday Express and Barry Winkleman who is the former publisher of Times Atlas of the World. Her parents got divorced when she was at the age of three. Her mother as well as father both remarried with another person in the year 1979. Claudia was brought up in London suburb of the Hampstead. She attended City of London School for Girls and later went to New Hall, Cambridge from where she earned herself an MA Hons degree in the History of Art.
Claudia started her first major television job in the year 1991. The job was on regional discussion program Central Weekend. The following year, she began to appear frequently in long-running BBC series called Holiday and it continued throughout the mid of 1990s. Claudia also made her appearance as a reporter on shows such as This Morning in which she interviewed the celebrities including Tony Blair, Alan Sugar, Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford. During late 1990s, she presented numbers of programs on smaller digital channels.
Claudia started her first daily TV role between the years 2002-2004. At that time, she hosted BBC Three Entertainment update show called Liquid News. Apart from that, she has also worked in Radios. She hosted a six part comedy quiz series on April and May of the year 2008 where she took a humorous look into the celebrity gossip of the week called Hot Gossip. In addition to that, she also hosts a weekly show on BBC Radio 2 on every Friday night which is called Claudia Winkleman’s Arts Show. The show consists of interviews with various people from arts world as well as reviews and the debate. During the London 2012 Olympics, she made the coverage for Ken Bruce for two weeks on BBC Radio 2. Again between 18th -22nd February and 22nd-27thDecember of 2013, she covered for Ken Bruce.
Winkleman began to present BBC Two sewing competition called The Great British Sewing Bee in 2nd April 2013. The show’s second series was then later commissioned and began to air on 18th February of 2014. Claudia has been co-presenting Strictly Come Dancing’s main result show together with Tess Daly since the year 2010 on BBC One. It was announced on 8th May 2014 that Winkleman has been chosen for taking over from Sir Bruce and she would be co-presenter along with Tess in main “Strictly” show forming one of first all-female presenting duos on the British prime-time television. Additionally, she is also a presenter of The Film Program on BBC Two in which she replaced Jonathan Ross after his move to the ITV in 2010.
To talk about her personal life, Claudia is a married woman. She is married to her husband Kris Thykier who is a film producer. The couple got married to each other on 24th June of the year 2000 in Westminster, London. They both are living blissful life so there is very less chance for them to get divorced. Claudia and Kris together have three children. She gave birth to her first child, a son named Jake on 17th March 2003. Her second child, a daughter named Martha was born on 5th June 2006 and her third child, a son named Arthur was born on 6th July of 2011. They are currently residing in Cannaught Square, Westminster.
