Personal Life

Clarke Carlisle was born on 14th October 1979 to Mervin and Rose. He attended the Balshaw’s CE High School located in Leyland, and he went on to study A-Level Mathematics and politics at the Ealing, Hammersmith, and West London College. He also has a degree in the professional sports writing and broadcasting from the Staffordshire University.

He is married to Gemma whom he met prior to his admission to Sporting Chance Clinic. The couple exchanged their vows with each other on the island of Antigua. They had two children together - a son named Marley and a daughter named Honey. He also has one daughter from his previous marriage and she is named as Francesca.

Gemma separated with Clarke in early 2015 after he suffered from depression and tried to commit suicide in December 2014. 

He is currently married to Carrie who is six months pregnant as of November 2017.

Professional Life

During his early career, he was inspired by his father to become a football player. He started to play the football at very young age. He also represented the Lancashire at Under-15 level. After that, he was signed by the Blackpool. There he became the trainee with the youth team. He made his debut for the Blackpool on 2nd September of 1997.

Besides, he had also played for the Queens Park Rangers from 2000 till 2004, Leeds United from 2004 to 2005, Watford from 2005 till 2007, Luton Town in 2007, Burnley from 2007 till 2012, Preston North End from 2011 till 2012, Northampton in 2012, York City from 2012 till 2013. Later, he announced on 23rd May of 2013 that he was getting retired from playing.
