Freeman was the youngest child and had two elder brothers: Crispin Freeman (actor), and Clark Freeman (musician). She first studied at The Latin School of Chicago and later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middlebury College in 2005, receiving degrees in Theater as well as in Spanish.
