An English actor, screen writer as well as a best selling author Cary Elwes is mostly known for portraying his roles in The Princess Bride, Days of Thunder, Glory, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Liar, Liar, Hot Shots!, and in Saw as Dr. Lawrence Gordon. In addition to that, he also had a recurring roles in TV series such as Psych and The X-Files  At present, he is starring in Crackle series The Art of More. He is the native of Westminster, London, England. He came into this world on 26th October of the year 1962 which has now made him reach at the age of 53. Although he is known by the name Cary Elwes, as a child, he was named as Ivan Simon Cary Elwes.

Cary was born as the youngest among the three boys to his parents. He is the son of Dominic Elwes and wife Tessa Kennedy. His father was a portrait painter whereas his mother was a socialite. He is of English, Irish, Scottish, and Serbo-Croatian Jewish ancestry. Cary is a tall guy with the height of five feet and eight and half inches that is 1.82 m. He went to get his education from Harrow School. He also got enrolled at London Academy of music and Dramatic Art. He then moved to United States in 1981 for studying at the Sarah Lawrence College located in Bronxville, New York. He also attended both Actors Studio as well as Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

It was in 1984 when Cary made his acting debut along with Marek Kanievska’s movie titled Another Country loosely based on an English boarding school exploits of British spies, Burgees, Philby and MacLean in which he played as James Harcourt who is a homosexual student. After that, he went on to play as Guilford Dudley in a British historical drama film called Lady Jane opposite to Helena Bonham Carter. Prior to that, Elwes published his memoir of making of The Princess bride titled as As You Wish in October 2014 which he co-wrote along with Joe Layden. That book is filled with never before told stories exclusive photographs and the interviews with co-stars Wallance Shawn, Robin Wright, Christopher Guest, Fred Savage, Billy Crystal, and Mandy Patinkin and the author as well as screen writer William Goldman, director Rob Reiner and producer Norman Lear. The book was debuted on the New York Times Best-Seller List.

A talented actor Cary has already got married. He is married to his wife named Lisa Marie Kurbikoff who is a still photographer. The couple first met with each other at Malibu chili cook-off. After that, they got engaged in 1997 and they finally exchanged their vows in 2000. In addition to that, Cary also has one child with his wife.
