She is the native of St. Louis Missouri. She was grown up in Chicago adoring the Bulls. She was the fan of Michael Jordan. She is the daughter of Natasha and Larry Parker. She also has two elder siblings named Anthony and Marcus. She started to play the basketball when at her early age. She went to study at the Naperville Central High School located in Naperville, Illinois. While there, she led her basketball team to the Class AA state titles in the year 2003 and 2004. After getting graduated from the high school, she got enrolled at the University of Tennessee in the year 2004. The following year in 17th February, Tennessee announced that Candace would redshirt her 1st season due to the knee injury. She then started for Tennessee Lady Vols during 2005-06 season. In an NCAA Tournament 1st round game on 19th March of 2006 against Army, she became first woman who dunk in NCAA Tournament game.
