Camille Cosby who is an American TV producer, author, philanthropist is also known as the wife of comedian Boll Cosby. The character of Clair Huxtable from the Cosby Show was based on Camille. Camille acts as a manager for her husband Bill and she has been depicted as the shrewd businesswoman. She also helps in development of the material of her husband including the suggestions for the Cosby Show, suggesting Huxtable family be middle-rather than working class. In addition to that, she has also been supporter of the African American literature, writing forewords for several of the authors.
In the year 2001, she worked with David C. Driskell for his book titled as The Other Side of Color: African American Art in The Collection of Camille O. and William H. Cosby Jr. that focused on the art collection of Cosby. Her filmography includes Fat Albert, Ennis’ Gift, Fatherhood, Extra, Essence Awards, Obkb, No Dreams Deferred, Queen Victoria’s Wedding and many more. Prior to that, her history of philanthropy includes the donations to the schools as well as educational foundations. Camille’s philanthropic memberships include The United Negro College Fund, Operation PUSH, The Southern Christian Leadership Conference, The National Council of Negro Women and the Jesse Jackson’s National Rainbow Coalition. In the year 2005, she donated $2 million to the Saint Frances Academy of Baltimore High School.
She is the native of Washington, D.C. She came into this world on 20th March of the year 1944 which has now made her at the age of 71. Although she is known by the name Camille Cosby, as a child, she was named as Camille Olivia Hanks. She is the daughter of Guy A. Hanks and Catherine C. Hanks. She was grown up in Norbeck, Maryland just outside of the Washington. She was born as the oldest among the four children. After completing her high school, she studied psychology at University of Maryland.
Moving on to her personal life biography, Camille is a married woman. She is married to her husband named Bill Cosby. She went to the blind date during the sophomore year with the 26 years old Bill Cosby who is seven years older than her. Shortly after that, the couple got engaged with each other and later, they tied their knot on 25th January of the year 1964. She also has five children together with Bill whom they have named as Evin, Ensa, Ennis, Erinn, and Erika. Their child, Ennis was murdered in 1997, at the age of 27.
