Bryce Alford was born on January 18, 1995 to Tanya and Steve Alford. His father is a basketball coach at UCLA. He attended news conference and locker room talks about basketball with his father since he was 5 years old. He went to La Cueva High School, Albuquerque, New Mexico. He signed a National Letter of Intent accepting University of New Mexico’s athletic scholarship offer in December 2012. Career

Bryce joined University of New Mexico when his father was coaching the Lobos. He broke 50-years old New Mexico high school single-season scoring record with 1,050 points. He was named New Mexico’s Gatorade Player of the Year for the very same season. He was ranked no. 44 shooting guard while he considered himself a point guard. His father became the coach at University of California in 2013 where Alford Followed him. As UCLA rarely recruited players who were less than four or five stars. Initially people were skeptic about Bryce’s recruitment who had just a three-star prospect. Bryce became Bruins’ starting point guard in 2014-15. In the Bruins’ opener, he made four three-point field goal in the final four minutes making his team win the game.

Bryce Alford has broken many records throughout his career. When criticism for him being coaches’ son was at peak, he proves skeptics wrong by being responsible for the team’s win. He also received an honorable mention for the All-Pac-12 team. He has shot a career high of 43 percent on three pointers.
