Bill O Reilly

Bill O’Reilly was born on the 10th of September in1949 as the son of William James Sr. and wife Winifred Angela Drake O’Reilly. Although he is professionally known by the name Bill O’Reilly, as a child, he was named as William James O’Reilly Jr. He is a native of New York City, New York US.

In the year 1951, Bill along with his family moved to the Levittown on Long Island when he was at the age of two. He also has one sister named Janet. Bill went to St. Brigid Parochial School located in Westbury. He later attended the Chaminade High School which is a private Catholic Boys High School located in Mineola.

While he was in the school, he played the Little League Baseball and was also a goalie on Chaminade Varsity Hockey Team. He graduated from high school in 1967. He then went on to join the Marist College located in Poughkeepsie, New York. It was also the choice of his father. In college, he played the punter in National Club Football Association and was also the writer for the school’s newspaper called The Circle. He majored in history and spent his time at Queen Mary College at the University of London for his junior year college abroad. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1971.

From the year 1970 till 1972, he taught English and history at the Monsignor Pace High School. He then returned to the school in 1973 and attended Boston University from where he earned himself a Master of Arts degree in the Broadcast Journalism.
He also went to the Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government/ from there, he received Master of Public Administration degree in 1996.

Bill was previously married to Maureen E. McPhilmy, a public relations executive. they met each other in 1992 and got married on 2nd November 1996 at St. Brigid Parish of Westbury. Together they have two children – a daughter and a son. Their first child, Madeline was born in 1998 and their second child, Spencer was born in 2003. Due to some personal reason, the couple got separated in 2nd April of 2010. Later they were divorced on 1st September 2011. Both of them are currently residing in suburban Manhasset, New York.

Bill returned to New York in 1980 and began to anchor his own program. He joined the CBS as a news correspondent and after six years, he joined the ABC News. He worked there for three years and earned two Emmy Awards as well as two National Headliner Awards for his excellence in the reporting.

His career took a turn in the year 1989 when he moved to the nationally syndicated show “Inside Edition.” He remained with the show for six years as an anchor and then left the show. Later, in the year 1996, Bill was hired by FOX News Channel for hosting his own show titled The O’Reilly Factor.

The show became the most-watched news program in 2001. He also wrote the Weekly Syndicated Newspaper Column through Creators Syndicate which appeared in numbers of newspapers such as New York Post and Chicago Sun-Times. He discontinued column at end of the year 2013.

At the time of attending Boston University, he also worked as a reporter and as a columnist for various local newspapers as well as alternative newsweeklies also including the Boston Phoenix, and he also interned in the newsroom of the WBZ-TV. It was in 1995 when Bill established himself as a National Media Personality.

Prior to that, Bill is also an author of more than a dozen of books which includes Those Who Trespass, The O’Reilly Factor, The No Spin Zone, Who’s Looking Out For You, The O’Reilly Factor For Kids, Culture Warrior, Kids Are American Too, A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity, Pinheads and Patriots, Killing Lincoln, Dwight Jon Zimmerman, Killing Kennedy, Kennedy’s Last Day, Keep It Pithy, Killing Jesus, The Last Day of Jesus and Killing Patton. In addition to that, he has also made a cameo appearance in films “Iron Man 2”, “An American Carol”, and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”.

Bill O’Reilly has had a hugely successful career and is renowned all over the world as a high achieving media personality. Because of his hardships and dedication towards what he did, today he has a net worth estimated to be around $85 million. Similarly, he enjoys an annual salary of well over 20 million dollars.
