Abigail Lee Kemp who has been suspected in a spree of jewelry store robberies across the several Southern states has now been arrested. The Atlanta Journal Constitution has reported that she was taken into the custody on Friday in Smyrna, Georgia. The suspect who has been named as Abigail Lee Kemp has now reached at the age of 24 and she is accused of stealing millions of dollars worth of the watches as well as diamonds.
Abgail has been suspected of at least 6 brazen armed robberies at the stores in five states. The 1st robbery occurred on 29th April in Woodstock, Georgia with the latest taking place on 4th January of the year 2016 in Mebane, North Carolina. She has also been suspected in similar robberies on 16th October in Sevierville, Tennessee, on 2nd September in Bluffton, South Carolina, on 11th August in Panama City, Florida as well as on 5th August in Dawnsonville, Georgia.
The FBI had said that Abigail followed the similar strategy in each of the jewelry store robberies. The investigators had also said that she would stickup the employees at the gunpoint then tie them up, lock doors of store and then put the items from display cases into her bags before fleeing. Along with Kemp, the police had also arrested a man who was with her, but have not revealed his identity or any more details.
The Jeweler Security Alliance issued the reward of $10000 for the information about Kemp which called her its Public Enemy No. 1. The FBI had released several of the pictures as well as a video of robberies in the hopes of identifying the thief who they now believe to be Kemp.
